2017 A Quilter's Showcase—
Vintage to Vanguard

2017 Opportunity Quilt Here are a few of the highlights of our show:

Date: September 9 & 10, 2017

Location: Cal State Channel Islands

Future planning meetings: June 12; July 10; Aug 14; other dates TBD.

Three Featured Artists: Thimbles 'n Threads (local chapter of the Appliqué Society), Ventura Modern Quilt Guild, and Extreme Quilters art quilters.

Themed Quilters Showcases: Presented by you, our members!

Quilt show challenge: This year Conejo Valley Quilters challenges its members to create a small quilt to depict the history of quilting. Members can find further details to create their own "Vintage to Vanguard" quilt by clicking here.

Quilts for Sale: Too many quilts that you don’t know what to do with? Or a UFO quilt that is no longer your favorite? Quilts for Sale is the answer! Any quilts you wish to sell at the show will return a portion of the proceeds to you (to buy more fabric!) and a portion will go to the Guild.

Boutique: Many small gift items for sale.

Demos: Learn new quilting techniques daily.

Opportunity quilt raffle ticket sales: Tickets will be available starting May 15 at the Guild general meeting. Please check your calendar and sign up to help sell tickets at Cotton & Chocolate either July 13 through 16 or July 20 through 23. CVQ will be at the Ventura County Fair on August 2, 3, 6, 7, & 8 from 10:30 AM to 6 PM and August 9 from 9:30 AM to 6 PM. Sign up for a shift at the June 19 Guild meeting. You get into the fair free the day/days you work. Do a shift and enjoy the rest of the day/night at the Fair! Thank you to everyone who has already volunteered and bought tickets! Click here to view a larger photo of this gorgeous quilt. It was pieced and donated by Chris Cole and quilted by Josie Prell.

Volunteer positions: Join us by volunteering to help with set up, take down, or during the show itself. Volunteer sign-ups will be available at the next few Guild meetings.
