Creating quilts that give back

Conejo Valley Quilters is a nonprofit group of creative people that promotes the art and craft of quilt making, from traditional to modern, while giving back to the community.

Where tradition meets creative expression

Co-founded in 1996 by Marilyn Petersen and Gayle Egbert, the Conejo Valley Quilters had 175 members by its second meeting, and in 1997 was up to 300 members, with 50 people on the waiting list. They hosted their first quilt show in 2001, and continued to host many exciting events.

The Guild broke new ground with unique activities such as the Quilting Spaces Tour, which allows members to showcase their own special quilting rooms. Traditional quilt guild activities such as round robins, block of the month, show and tell and philanthropy opportunities continue to be favorites among the members at each meeting.

Over the years, the guild has stayed fresh and current by continuing to host dynamic quilt shows and organize fundraisers, retreats and quilt challenges, while continuing to introduce new techniques and ideas through workshops and visits from renowned national and local experts.
