Practice Time!

"Practice Time" is a free-motion quilting clinic that is being hosted by Janice and Janine of Conejo Valley Quilters and "free" to members during the second half of our monthly "4th Monday Virtual Sewdays."

From January through June 2024 you will find suggestions and homework to look over prior to each 4th Monday session.  The most recent materials will be posted at the top of the "handouts" below.  Please give yourself some time to check it out each month, practice with us, and HAVE FUN!

If you'd like to be placed on the "Practice Time" email list, please contact Janice at janiam@mac.com.

"Practice Time" #4,

is happening at 11:00 AM

next Monday, May 27, 2024

It’s Memorial Day, so we are moving the time up to 11 am so you all can attend celebrations later in the day.  Here are the two documents you will want to read ahead of time.

Click on the underlined titles for the pdfs.

Basically for this session, just draw some curved blocks on muslin or similar - unless you already have a quilt top with curves that you wish to quilt.   In the first document you will find two popular variations of curved blocks.

  1. CVQ PT #4 Curves Patterns:   drunkards path and orange peel.

  2. CVQ PT #4 Curves Quilting Ideas:   five pages of quilting designs to use in your curved blocks along with two blog/video recommendations.

Hoping to see you there!
