OUR NEXT SEW DAY IS MAY 6, 2024

Marilyn and Jerry Peterson have opened their sewing room for CVQ again on the first Monday of every month* so that we can work on Community Giving projects in person. (*We will be meeting on the 2nd Mondays of April, July, and September due to Holidays) Join other CVQ members from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM to make quilts, pillowcases, and placemats.

Say Oui Quilt Challenge
Photo Submission Deadline April 8!

The CVQ "Say Oui" challenge was kicked off by Peggie Eichhorn at our Holiday Social on December 4, 2023. Twenty-three members "Said Yes!" and are taking the challenge. The results will be revealed at our April 22, 2024 General Meeting!

Members picked a photo they liked out of a deck of picture cards.

The challenge is to make a quilt, no larger than 18" x 18", depicting what the photo means to you. You don't need to duplicate the image if it makes you think of something else special to you.

You can embellish to your hearts content, use yarns, beads, paint, whatever you'd like - on a fabric base.

Please send a couple of photos of your finished challenge project to Karen Schwieger at karenowc@aol.com. Deadline for submitting you photo is Monday, April 8. All challenge photos will be put into a slide show along with a photo of the original picture card.
CVQ's 2024 UFO Challenge

Do you have quilt tops in desperate need of quilting? Sections of projects laying around for months, years? A tote bag, table topper or jacket laying around waiting for those finishing stitches?
Take the challenge and see how much you can accomplish!
CVQ's 2024 UFO Challenge – hosted by Lynn Jurss

Complete 10 UFOs (sewn items: quilts, handmade items like bags, sets of placemats, table toppers, clothing)

Send a clear photograph of each completed project with a brief sentence or 2 about its history, and your name

Conejo Valley Quilters --- The 4th Monday Sewing Party
(a virtual monthly event)
​
Join us on the 4th Monday of each month at the monthly "4th Monday Sewing Party". It’s the best of both worlds – you get to hang out with friends (new & old), work on whatever you want, have everything you need at hand, come and go as you need AND you don’t need to tote anything, worry about parking or what you may have forgotten.
Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm PT. Stay the entire time or just stop by.
Location: Zoom (where else?) & your sewing space.

GENERAL MEETINGS
Conejo Valley Quilters now hosts a selection of Hybrid (In-person with Zoom option) and Virtual meetings. When our meetings are Hybrid, the DAY AND DATE will depend on availability of our facility space. Please check "Guild Events" tab for date, time and place. When not meeting in person, our General Meetings will be on Zoom and held on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 PM, with Social Time starting at 5:30 PM.

Board Meetings (open to members only)
​
Board meetings are currently held on Zoom at 4:00 PM, the second Wednesday of each month. A Zoom link can be found in the "Members Only" section of the Members Area. If you have an item to add to the agenda, please contact one of the co-presidents a week before the meeting. Any member can submit an item for the agenda. An email will be sent to all current board members the prior week.

Note to Board members: if you cannot attend the meeting, please contact a Board associate or the co-presidents beforehand so that they can present the status for your position.
Show and Tell

Click here for instructions to prepare your quilts for Show and Tell on Zoom. Unless otherwise specified (such as challenge photos which will require a longer time to prepare a slide show) the deadline for photo submission will be midnight on Friday prior to the meeting in which your photos will be shown.

We all have triumphs and troubles. Some are private and personal, while others invite celebration and consolation. CVQ cares about each of you!
